A long-time resident of the village of Corvin in Dal-Rhiatah, Aronda is the local Physic. Her duties involve herbal medicine, setting broken limbs, midwifery, and caring for the elderly and the sick. Fletch’s daughter Flara is a long-standing patient of hers, though her attitude is more brisk and business-like than warm and friendly. She lives alone and almost always has done. However, there was a brief romantic entanglement between her and Logan Bartholom (The Nighthunter) when they were both teenagers, and consequently she harbours some bitter complicated feelings about him which she does her utmost not to reveal or admit to. She doesn’t let anyone grow too close to her emotionally, but the villagers look upon her with fondness and respect nevertheless.
The nickname “of the Dust” pertains to her habit of using ground-up ingredients (minerals and dried herbs) in her medicines. She has no surname, no parents, and no other surviving family.
Don’t forget — email subscribers to the Nightwalks blog receive a free Mysterious Thing once a month. At the end of this month it will be a free short story, “Fletch: My Thoughts on Eternity.”
