Book Cover Idea for Something in the System

“Something in the System” is the working title for my first collection of short stories and poetry.

A lot of the stories and poems in this collection appeared in online magazines years ago (from 2013 to 2016). They are all humorous (satire, parody, tongue-in-cheek, or just absurd). I am currently still querying this with different independent publishers so it is not yet available.

The stories and poems have appeared in Poetic Diversity (the litzine of Los Angeles), Defenestration magazine (big thanks to Andrew Kaye and Eileen Lovelle), Emerging Worlds magazine, Penumbra (now sadly defunct), Author’s Choice Selected Anthologies Volume One (the Facebook group which gestated this book sadly imploded), and Once Upon A Crocodile e-zine (my pet project). The rest are original to the collection.

Influences include Roald Dahl (I had a lot of fun inventing my own strange words while writing “The Day That Went Hobnaciously”), Rudyard Kipling, and Lewis Carroll.
