Who and What is Fletch?

An old man with an even older head on his shoulders, Fletch is a social outcast and mystic living on a solitary hill just outside of Corvin village in the northern continent, Dal-Rhiatah.

He is blessed — or cursed — with the gift of Far-Seeing, where his mind wanders into different periods of the future at inopportune moments. He is plagued by visions of what might come to pass hundreds of years after he dies. This, coupled with the fact that he eloped and had a child out of wedlock with a woman twenty years younger than him, means that society in general wants little to do with him. Being an outcast is something he has in common with the Nighthunter, Logan Bartholom, and the two men meet and befriend each other in the second book of the series.

Fletch’s daughter, Flara, is terminally ill, and her mother died in childbirth. Fletch tries his best to take care of the girl alone with scant aid from the village Physic, Aronda of the Dust. The visions he keeps suffering make this hard job even more difficult. To unleash some of his pent-up emotions and the odd images his visions conjure, he writes metaphysical poetry that hints at what might happen centuries ahead.

The second reward for subscribers to the e-mail list will be a free short story featuring Fletch and his thoughts about the Dead and Ghosts. It will be in e-mail subscribers’ inboxes at the end of this month.
