Who is Anthea Blackthorn?

The oldest witch in existence. One of the main characters in the Nighthunter book four, she is the leader of an undercover coven of kindly witches in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. She has a long and murky past, as is the case with anyone who lives long enough to need to adopt fresh identities in order to escape the notice and judgement of the public. Shortly before she took on the mantle of witch-hood, she lost her only son. Interestingly, the identity of her son varies, but that doesn’t make her suppressed grief any less, and in book four she comes perilously close to using dark magic. She is so enmeshed with nature and the secret workings of the earth, she is almost the archetypal Mother Earth incarnate and senses things that are happening — or will happen — upon the face of that world.

She also appears in a short story, “The Nah-Hual’s Child” in this anthology of witch-themed stories, The Witches Ball, from Jazz House Publications:
